Payment Processing Fees
All donations and payments are processed through Stripe
Fees may range based on processing volumes and if you are a Canadian registered charity or 501(c)(3) organization. For example, credit card processing fees may range from 2% to 2.9% + $0.30
If you are connecting your existing Stripe account you will be charged your existing credit card rates.

A merchant account is a type of bank account that works behind the scenes and allows you to accept credit card payments. During a donation transaction, funds are initially transferred to your merchant account, and are then deposited to your bank account. Without a merchant account, you cannot accept credit card payments.
While Stripe is an excellent payment gateway that allows you to accept online transactions, they don’t offer a specialized form to collect donations or store donor data. They also don’t provide a good facility to manage recurring donations.
Funds reach your bank account in a few business days – please consult Stripe’s payout schedule for more information.
Stripe offers a discounted payment processing rate for registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits and Canadian registered charities. To apply with Stripe, email [email protected].
If you offer the cover fee option in your campaign, your donor may choose to cover the entire processing fees of the transaction, leaving you with the entire donated amount.
